Water and Sanitation for Healthier Communities
Access to clean water and proper sanitation remains a serious challenge in many enclaved communities across our country. Thousands of people are forced to rely on unsafe water sources, leading to the spread of waterborne diseases that compromise health and wellbeing.
Several years ago, ACDA conceived the Big Nganjo Water Project, designed to bring clean and potable water to more than 20,000 people across four villages. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, the project has been delayed. However, we remain committed to seeing it through, as it has the potential to transform lives.
Alongside our efforts to improve access to clean water, ACDA has carried out numerous sanitation campaigns, which include:
Distribution of over 1,000 sanitary pads to young girls.
Provision of drinking buckets and cups in classrooms across villages.
Advocacy for the construction of toilets in schools, markets, and other public spaces.
Despite financial limitations, our commitment to water and sanitation as a human right continues to drive our actions.
Projects in Perspective
Revive and complete the Big Nganjo Water Project to serve thousands across four villages.
Expand distribution of hygiene kits (pads, buckets, and sanitary materials) to more communities.
Construct modern sanitation facilities in schools, marketplaces, and community hubs.
Partner with local and international stakeholders to scale up water and sanitation initiatives.

Clean water saves lives. Proper sanitation restores dignity.
Together, we can ensure every community enjoys both.
